New Auction Platform from AUCTIVA

June 28th, 2010 by admin and tagged , , ,

“Elefy is a new search-driven marketplace dedicated to improving buying and selling on the web. We built Elefy to give independent sellers like you a better showcase for your items and to give buyers an easy way to find just what they want. Buyers will be able to find your items through services like Google search results as well as directly on Elefy.

Later this year, you’ll have the option to list items directly to Elefy from your Auctiva account and we are designing that new functionality to be as simple and straight-forward as possible.

You can take a peek at Elefy.com now but keep in mind that it will be changing quite a bit. The team is hard at work on key features such as multi-seller/multi-item checkout, item pages, seller profiles, item and order management and some design improvements too. We would love to hear your thoughts and answer any questions you may have. Join the discussion.”

Well, It Seems GOZBAY.COM Was A Failure

December 30th, 2008 by admin and tagged , , ,

I wanted to give Gozbay a chance, because the owner talked a good game, but ultimately failed. Sure, they might claim they aren’t giving up, but it doesn’t matter. Their website has been down since October, and the webpage directs you to some corny Yahoo Group if you “would like more info on what is going on”…LOL, then you have to sign up to join the Yahoo group in order to read anything. No thanks. I’m not doing that. I don’t care enough about what’s going on to sign up for a Yahoo group.

eBay Is Changing Their Feedback Policy. Sellers Can No Longer Leave Negative/Neutral Feedback For Buyers.

January 29th, 2008 by admin and tagged , , , ,

Wow, this seems really stupid to me. Here is the link to the full article with all the details. I can’t believe they are going to take away a sellers ability to leave negative or neutral feedback.

Basically, here is the short version (copied & pasted from the eBay page):

What changes are being made to the eBay Feedback system?

There are five key elements to the new Feedback system being introduced in the first half of 2008:

  1. Beginning in February, buyers and sellers will be able to earn up to one Feedback per week from the same trading partner. Today, members may only affect each other’s Feedback scores one time, regardless of the number of transactions between the parties. This change will both encourage repeat transactions and reward good service.
  2. Sellers will no longer be able to leave negative or neutral Feedback for buyers. This change will occur in May, 2008.
  3. Removal of negative and neutral Feedback left by members who are suspended or who fail to respond to the Unpaid Item Process (UPI).
  4. Positive Feedback percentage will be based on the past 12 months of Feedback, rather than lifetime, since it is most indicative of the seller’s recent performance.
  5. Restrictions on when Feedback can be left:
    • Buyers must wait three days before leaving negative or neutral Feedback
    • Instead of 90 days, members will be able to leave Feedback for 60 days

Selling On eBay: PART 1 – Build Up Your Feedback As An eBay Buyer

October 1st, 2007 by admin and tagged , ,

First of all, if you haven’t created a free eBay account yet, that’s the first thing you should do. Click Here to get started right away!

I’ve been buying and selling on eBay full-time for several years now. Selling on eBay is a great way to earn some extra cash, or it can even provide a full-time income for you, all from the comfort of your own home. The best part is, it’s really easy!

However, there are some things new sellers should know before diving in and listing all of their good stuff on eBay. I made the mistake of listing several expensive items for sale as soon as I opened up my eBay account, and I didn’t have any feedback yet, so some of the items sold for far less than they would have if I had already accumulated a positive feedback rating.

Why is that? Because buyers on eBay look at a sellers feedback score before they bid, and many buyers will not bid on an item from a seller with 0 feedbacks because the buyer sees what they perceive as an inexperienced seller.

So what’s the best way to get around this problem? Easy, before you start your eBay selling, get your feet wet as a buyer for a few items. Look around eBay and purchase a few inexpensive items you would like to own, pay for them promptly, and within a few days you will most likely have a few positive feedbacks on your eBay account from the sellers you purchased the items from.

After you’ve built up 4 or 5 good feedbacks is the best time to start selling items on eBay and making $$ Cash $$ for yourself! In your eBay listings, always be completely honest. Don’t be afraid to explain in your item description that you are new to selling on eBay. If you don’t know much about a particular item you want to sell, then tell people you don’t know much about it, but provide a good photograph of the item so the potential customer can judge for themselves.

Of course, it’s not absolutely necessary to build up your feedback before you sell, it’s just a way to maximize the prices realized from selling your products early in your eBay career. Like I said, I didn’t have any feedback when I started selling, but I’ve done alright, and I’ve continued to sell on eBay for the past 5 years while maintaining 100% positive feedback after selling thousands of items.

The best way to learn (and get cash rolling in!) is to dive right in and start doing it.

Welcome to my Internet Auction Blog

September 26th, 2007 by admin and tagged , , ,

Hi, thanks for checking out my new Internet Auction blog. I started this site mainly because I spend a large portion of each day on internet auctions and online auction sites like eBay. I buy and sell merchandise through internet auction sites, primarily eBay as it is of course the largest and busiest of any online auction site I know of.

So basically, the purpose of this blog is so I can share interesting topics I think about during the day, share tips & tricks, or to post interesting/funny auctions I come across during my web-surfing. So bookmark this site, feel free to leave comments too!
